Kozhikode-Kerala Government Medical Officers Association district committee informed in a press release that people should be cautious as there is a possibility of heat wave. The association warned that the impact of this will be greater on the categories of people with serious illness, old people, children and pregnant women.
Spots and blisters on exposed body parts should be considered as a sign of sunburn. Severe heat stroke occurs in humans when the body’s thermoregulation system is compromised in extreme heat. High body temperature, hot red skin, lack of sweating, vomiting, and loss of consciousness may occur as a result of this, according to a news release. If a person feels discomfort due to heat, the person should be moved to a cool and shady place as soon as possible. Tight clothes should be sent and cold water should be poured over the body. Cold water should be drunk sparingly in cases other than heat stroke. If serious condition appears, seek medical help as soon as possible. The press release also asked that essential programs and jobs should be arranged before 11 am and after 3 pm.
